Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has deflected attempts to give a scorecard of the Kenyan Kwanza administration, stating that Kenyans are best placed to render judgment on the current administration’s performance.

Speaking during a press conference at the KICC on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the MP who has refrained from openly aligning with either the government or the opposition, shied from rating the Kenya Kwanza working for fear of being biased in his appraisal.

Nyoro, who termed the meeting as not a proper venue for engaging in political discourse, did however reveal his commitment to continue his role of serving Kenyans.

“You know I have been chairman of a budget committee, definitely I am likely to be subjective since I have just left the position barely a week ago. In terms of rating the government, allow me not to answer that,” the MP stated.

Rather, the politician shared his determination to do his fair share of contributing towards making a better Kenya.

“From where I’m seated, there is always work to be done and as a leader, I will do my best to chip in that development to better the country,” he said.

“I am a Kenyan, I live here and see what there is but Kenyans are better judges than ourselves as leaders.”

Ndindi’s ouster

The MP also waded in to the circumstances of his removal as the Budget and Appropriations Committee chair, as he reflected positively on his time leading the committee, acknowledging the demanding nature of the role.

“This position is very involving, sometimes sleeping in this office, leaving here very early in the morning, not just myself but also the members we were serving with, but it was also an experience to learn and know Kenya,” he said.

The MP further expressed gratitude to his constituents, recognizing their role in his political journey.

“Let me thank the people of Kiharu Constituency because to become the Chairman of the Budget and Appropriations committee, you need to become an MP first. I don’t want to chest thump but I’m just saying it in humility, I’m grateful to the people of Kiharu for the honour to have served them as an MP,” Nyoro said.
