Mudavadi slammed over anti-Gachagua remarks

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has launched a scathing attack on Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, accusing him of political arrogance and misdirected priorities.
This follows Mudavadi’s remarks suggesting that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his allies will not succeed in the 2027 General Election.
Njiru, known for his fiery commentary on national politics, took to his official X account on Sunday, June 8, 2025, to rebuke Mudavadi, urging him to ignore Gachagua’s political ambitions and instead focus on serving the Kenyan people.
“Musalia Mudavadi was given a 30 per cent share according to the agreement between Ruto and ANC, but no roads and development in Western!” Njiru wrote.
Njiru said that Mudavadi lacks tangible benefits for his native region despite holding a powerful government position.
The lawyer further questioned Mudavadi’s motives in undermining the Deputy President, noting that if Gachagua is truly unelectable, there should be no reason for concern.
“If our cousin (Gachagua) cannot run for office, why does it bother you then? Bona inakuuma? Si uwachane na cousin yetu (Leave our cousin alone),” Njiru posted.
Mudavadi, a key ally of President Ruto, had recently made statements dismissing the possibility of Gachagua’s faction mounting a viable political challenge in 2027.
Njiru did not hold back, suggesting that Mudavadi’s political relevance is declining both in his home region and across the country.
“Wewe sukumana na WANTAM wako (Continue supporting President Ruto); you are a thing of the past in Coastal Kenya and Kenya at large. Your political obituary is written. And it shall be published come August 2027, or earlier,” Njiru stated.
“Truth doesn’t flinch, and neither do we. The People’s Loyal Opposition won’t shrink to fit your comfort!”

Government in shipwreck?
He went on to accuse the Prime CS of clinging to power despite diminishing public support and a growing disconnect with ordinary Kenyans.
“A crown made of lies melts fast in the heat of anger. But why are you in denial of this fact? Why cling on to power when the will of the people is unanimously against your government?” he posed.
Njiru said that Gachagua and his troops are more than ready for the challenge against President Ruto and his camp in the general polls.
“Political leaders should prioritise service delivery rather than engaging in premature succession politics. 2027 is coming, and we will triumph because we have the backing of the Kenyan people,” he asserted.
