Mbadi praises Ruto’s development drive, promises support in 2027 elections

Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury, John Mbadi, has praised President William Ruto for the development strides made in Homabay County and other regions across the country since assuming office.

Speaking at a rally in in Homabay on, Friday, May 30, 2025. Mbadi acknowledged the president’s commitment to inclusive growth and expressed his renewed support for the president ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Mbadi, a prominent political figure who initially faced uncertainty over his role following the 2022 elections, said he was relieved and proud to serve in President Ruto’s government.

 “I couldn’t contemplate being a minister in any other government but this one,” Mbadi told the gathering in Homabay.

 He described President Ruto as “a considerate man who listens and acts on the needs of Kenyans.”

The CS credited the president’s leadership with accelerating development projects in Homabay County, an area that has historically faced economic challenges.

 “Under President Ruto’s administration, Homabay has witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education,” Mbadi said, adding that similar progress has been registered in other counties.

“Iam happy Your Excellency. I will support you. Iam happy thay you have allowed resources to Come to Homabay County alongside other regions like we are talking about tarmac roads with voluntary allocation of Ksh700 million to start it. We know you will make there is more money.”

Mbadi highlighted key government initiatives that have contributed to the growth of the region, including road construction projects aimed at improving connectivity and market access for local farmers. He also pointed to expanded health services and investments in schools as evidence of the administration’s commitment to social welfare.

“The president understands the importance of balanced development. His policies ensure that no region is left behind,” Mbadi emphasised, reiterating his support for President Ruto’s bid to retain power in 2027.

Mbadi noted that the president’s inclusive leadership style has helped unify diverse communities.

“President Ruto’s approach is grounded in listening to the people and responding with concrete actions. This has earned him respect and trust across Kenya,” he said.

He urged the Head of State to remain focused on development initiatives because they will reinforce the election agenda in counties considered crucial for the upcoming polls.

“You will not need to say much Mr.President for the development is going to do the talking.It will mobilise for you come 2027,” he assertd.

Mbadi urged residents of Homabay to continue backing the government’s development programmes and remain engaged in the political process.

“The progress we are witnessing is just the beginning. Together with President Ruto, we will build a Kenya that works for everyone,” he said.

“We must stand with the President. We will be bad people not to support him after what he has done for and us and more to come.”
