Matiang’i warns ODM against involving Jubilee in its squabbles
Jubilee Party has dismissed claims that it is behind attempts to create divisions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), emphasising its commitment to peace, unity, and healthy political competition in Kenya.
In a statement shared on X on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Fred Matiang’i said the party respects the autonomy of other political formations and warned against using unverified controversies to distract the public.

“As the Jubilee Party, we stand committed to peace and unity in our nation’s political landscape. We extend our sincere well-wishes to all fellow political actors as we advance together toward a stronger Kenya,” Matiang’i stated.
Matiang’i reiterated that Jubilee has no involvement in the internal affairs of ODM or any other party. He said the party supports multiparty democracy, which he described as key to realising Kenya’s vibrant political future.

“Let it be known to the general public that we are neither involved in nor inclined toward any form of conflict. Our unwavering belief in multiparty democracy embraces healthy competition, for it is through the flourishing of all parties that Kenya will realise the vibrant democracy to which we all aspire.” Fred Matiangi
He further clarified that all internal, external, and international discussions within other parties remain their own business, underscoring that Jubilee’s leadership is focused on contributing positively to national discourse.
“Any discussions, be they internal, external, or international, within other parties, remain solely their prerogative. We respect their autonomy and wish them success in their endeavours.” Fred Matiangi

Matiang’i urged national leaders to prioritise governance over personal animosities or distractions, reminding them that true leadership inspires rather than intimidates. He stressed that Kenya’s leaders should channel efforts toward building a prosperous and democratic nation for future generations.
“We respectfully urge our colleagues in national leadership to prioritise their solemn duties. With much to accomplish in service to our country, let us channel our energies into constructive governance rather than unfounded controversies or personal animosities. We recognise that true leadership inspires rather than intimidates. Let us rise above division and unite in building a prosperous, democratic Kenya for generations to come,” he stated.
