The Linda Mwananchi Movement has held a high-level consultative meeting as part of final preparations for its upcoming political rally scheduled to take place in Nakuru.

According to a statement by Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi on his Facebook account on Monday, April 13, 2026, the meeting brought together key leaders and coordinators who discussed mobilisation strategies, security considerations, and the overall agenda of the rally.

“I attended the high-level consultative meeting by the leadership of the Linda Mwananchi Movement, where we discussed plans to move our nation forward. We will not be silenced despite the state-sponsored intimidation,” Osotsi said.

Osotsi confirming his attendance

Osotsi had earlier affirmed that he will be there at the next Linda Mwananchi rally in Nakuru, which comes just days following his attack by his unknown assailants in Kisumu.

In a TikTok video on Friday, April 10, 2026, Osotsi called on Kenyans to be ready to turn up for the Linda Mwananchi Rally to be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Nakuru County, saying that the ultimate goal of the faction is to make sure that President Ruto’s regime does not go beyond the 2027 general elections.

“Wakenya wenzangu niko hospitalini lakini mjipange. Nakuru tunakuja. Mambo ni Wantam,” Osotsi said.

Osotsi’s attack

The senator suffered injuries in an attack in Kisumu on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and officials airlifted him to Nairobi for treatment.

Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka condemned a series of violent attacks targeting leaders of the United Alternative Government.

Kalonzo described the incidents as a deliberate campaign to intimidate leaders and a deliberate campaign to block the opposition leaders from accessing Nyanza and Western regions.

In a statement on his X account on Thursday, April 9, 2026, Kalonzo said the recent assault on Senator Godfrey Osotsi was “chilling” and part of a worrying pattern in the region.

“Senator Godfrey Osotsi’s account of a calculated, near-fatal attack is chilling, and it is not an isolated incident. A clear pattern has emerged. Osotsi and Siaya Governor James Orengo were attacked by the same goons at the Royal Swiss Hotel, Kisumu. Richard Onyonka was attacked, leaving a Linda Mwananchi rally,” Kalonzo said.

Linda Mwananchi attacks

Osotsi’s attack comes amid rising tension around leaders linked to the Linda Mwananchi movement.

In February 2026, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna claimed that he and his team were targeted at Kisumu International Airport ahead of a planned rally in Kakamega.

He alleged that suspected goons barricaded the airport in an attempt to block their arrival, further accusing the Kenya Airports Authority of failing to prevent the security breach. Sifuna said his team was forced to alter their travel arrangements and instead land at Kakamega Airstrip.
