Kanini Kega threatens to go to court if Jubilee is not represented in National Dialogue
East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Kanini Kega has demanded that Jubilee should be represented in the National Dialogue between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party.
In a statement on Tuesday, Kega threatened to go to court in case the party was not represented in the talks.
“If Jubilee Party will not be represented in the dialogue talks then we meet in Court. Jubilee is the 3rd largest Party in Kenya,” Kega said.
Currently, Azimio is represented in the dialogue by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, National Assembly Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi, DAP party leader Eugene Wamalwa, Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi.
On the other hand, Kenya Kwanza is represented in the dialogue by Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Leader of Majority Aaron Cheruiyot, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire EALA MP Hassan Omar and Bungoma Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga.
In the two teams, there is no member of the Jubilee Party. The party is currently a member of the Azimio coalition.
The two teams recently officially co-opted members of their technical teams to the dialogue team, with a task of shaping the agenda for the talks.
Kenya Kwanza appointed to its technical team Dr Muthomi Thiankolu, Dr Linda Musumba, Nick Biketi and Dr Duncan Ojwang’ while Azimio appointed Jeremiah Kioni, Prof Adams Oloo, Zein Abubakar and Lynn Ngugi to its team.
Already, a motion to set up the National Dialogue Committee has been tabled in the National Assembly, co-sponsored by Ichung’wah and Wandayi.
