Kalonzo offers advice to Gideon Moi if offered a job in Ruto’s govt

Kalonzo’s fiery warning to Ruto
In his speech, Kalonzo confronted the president’s political moves, warning him to stop dragging Gideon Moi into power games. Nonetheless, he asked Gideon Moi to accept a job if offered to him, but ditch Ruto’s government before the elections.

Kalonzo’s remarks came just two days after President Ruto and Gideon Moi formalised their political partnership at State House on October 10, 2025.
Moi agreed to join the Kenya Kwanza administration and shelved his Baringo senatorial ambitions. Kalonzo framed the move as a distraction from governance, signalling his intention to challenge Ruto’s political strategy as the 2027 elections draw closer.
Gideon Moi while hosting President William Ruto at the vast Kabarak farm in Nakuru County on Friday, October 10, 2025, revealed that his State House meeting with President Ruto on Thursday, October 9, 2025, brought about the decision to shelve his senatorial ambitions after failing to appear at the IEBC nomination offices between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for clearance on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
”The president (William Ruto) knows why I never made it to the ballot. I had some unfinished business in Baringo, from roads to dams; that’s why I decided to vie. Because President Ruto was elected by Kenyans, I decided to listen to him,” Gideon Moi said.
Gachagua accuses Ruto of double standards
Gachagua echoed Kalonzo’s sentiments, accusing the President of double standards in his approach to political alliances. “Ruto ameita Gideon Moi, wameongea, na akasema anaunganisha watu wake huko nyumbani ndio apate amani na hataki sisi tuwe na amani hapa Mlima Kenya. Yeye akiunganisha watu wake anasema ni umoja wa kitaifa, nikiunganisha watu hapa anasema ni ukabila,” he stated.
He vowed to protect Mount Kenya’s unity, declaring that the region would not allow political divisions to take root. Gachagua also hinted at a campaign to expose leaders he described as betrayers of the region’s interests. “Kazi yangu inaanza kutoka saa hizi, nitakuwa nikizunguka hii Mlima Kenya kutangaza wasaliti wa mlima hata kama wewe ni mwanamke tutakutangaza,” he added, drawing cheers from the congregation.
