Jimi Wanjigi: Anyone who aligns with Ruto will be finished

By , May 5, 2026

Safina Party leader and businessman Jimi Wanjigi has declared that President William Ruto’s political reign has reached its conclusion, warning that those who continue to stand by the head of state will go down with him.

Speaking during a public gathering on May 5, 2026, Wanjigi claimed that President Ruto’s leadership is rapidly losing public support, arguing that Kenyans are bearing the brunt of policies affecting key sectors such as healthcare and education.

“Anyone who aligns with Ruto will be finished. As you can see, he is finished; there is nothing left for him in this country. He has taken from Kenyans, from healthcare to education, and people are feeling it,” Wanjigi said.

Ruto’s influence is done

According to Wanjigi, the president is already finished and done, even suggesting that the president himself is aware that his influence has evaporated.

“This is the end of his reign. Kenya is ready for change. Mimi ndio nawinda Ruto (I am the one hunting Ruto) and I know him better than you,” Wanjigi stated.

Wanjigi issued a direct ultimatum to leaders and citizens currently aligned with the administration. He cautioned that the President’s political shelf life has expired, noting that even his “referendum” ended long ago.

That man is finished hata anajua. Anajua referendum yake iliisha zamani sana. Kama mnataka kukaa na yeye mtaisha na yeye,” Wannjigi noted.

Wanjigi working with other leaders

Wanjigi has recently declared his readiness to form alliances with any leader or movement centred on a clear, issue-based agenda rather than traditional ethnic mobilisation.

Speaking during an interview with a local station on Thursday, April 16, 2026, Wanjigi emphasised that the era of tribal arithmetic in Kenyan politics is over, replaced by a growing demand for economic liberation and government accountability.

Wanjigi, who has become one of the most vocal critics of President William Ruto’s administration, stated that his doors are open to like-minded individuals who prioritise the country’s economic survival.

““I am willing to work with anybody who is in the agenda politics. An agenda is simply this. We have diagnosed that the problem in this country is the economy and that the period we’re going through is about our economic freedom,” Wanjigi stated.
