International community is watching: Moses Kuria warns Ruto ahead of by-elections
Former Cabinet Secretary and the Chama Cha Kazi Party leader, Moses Kuria, has sent a direct warning to President William Ruto ahead of the November 27, 2025, by-elections.
Addressing the press in Mbeere North on Saturday night, November 22, 2025, the former CS boldly told his former boss, President William Ruto, that the international community will keenly follow how the country will conduct the mini-polls.
Moses Kuria made the remarks after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and his convoy were attacked after armed goons ambushed him at Chwele Ward in Kabuchai, Bungoma County.
Viral images and videos showed Natembeya’s vehicles destroyed.

While condemning the incident, Moses Kuria warned President Ruto that the international community will be observing with a keen interest so that what transpired in Tanzania does not occur in Kenya.
He further warned the government of the day that Kenyans cannot tolerate any form of nonsense ahead of the by-elections.
“Leo mumeona, what has happened in Chwele uko Kabuchai karibu waue Natembeya. Mimi nataka kuambia serikali sana sana nataka niambie rais William Ruto directly: the international community is watching,” Moses Kuria stated.
“How we conduct these elections is of interest to the international community. Sasa vile mnafikiria vile Suluhu amefanya tunaenda kuwa na hio ya Tanzania, jameni Wakenya sio Watanzania, msijaribu hapa it will not be business as usual if you try those monkey businesses here in Kenya,” Kuria added.
“Kenyans cannot tolerate nonsense,” he insisted.
Mbeere North
During the same presser, Moses Kuria stated that Chama Cha Kazi candidate Ireri Mbui is the right man for the Mbeere North parliamentary seat.
He criticised key government officials, including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, for protecting their interests and positions instead of selling the United Democratic Alliance’s candidate agenda to the voters.

Kuria did not spare the opposition, reprimanding them for turning the Mbeere North campaign into a supremacy battle.
The United Opposition is backing Newton Karish, while the UDA brigade is campaigning for Leo Wamuthende.
IEBC Preparations
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has launched the distribution of ballot papers and election documents to 20 regions ahead of the November 27 by-elections.
The upcoming by-elections will fill seats left vacant due to resignations, court rulings, or the deaths of previous officeholders
“The Commission has finalised plans to dispatch election materials to all areas. The safety of the electoral materials is secured from the IEBC warehouse in Nairobi to the respective regions. Our teams will receive the election materials and place them in safe custody,” Commissioner Hassan Noor Hassan stated on Friday, November 21, 2025.
