Gachagua launches party office in Loitoktok, rallies support ahead of 2027 elections
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified grassroots mobilization efforts after opening a new party office in Loitoktok Town, Kajiado South, as part of a nationwide outreach campaign.
In a statement on his X account on May 2, 2026, Gachagua said his party, the Democracy for the Citizens Party, remains committed to its founding philosophy of engaging citizens directly and championing their interests.

“Our Party, the people’s party – Democracy for the Citizens Party, remains upbeat in its philosophy. Today we reached out to the people of Oloiktoktok Town in Kajiado South and opened the party office,” Gachagua said.
Rally behind DCP
According to Gachagua, the party is a platform that listens to wananchi and reflects their aspirations, urging residents of the region to rally behind it.

“We keep engaging every Kenyan in all corners of our country ahead of the elections next year. To the people of Loiktoktok, here is your party of choice and a party that listens to you and carries your aspirations,” Gachagua said.

Speaking on May 1, 2026, during a thanksgiving ceremony at Korompoi village in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Gachagua dismissed the president’s political approach, stating: “I don’t want to brag, but you don’t know any politics! I will teach you Politics next year! umesomea mambo ya matawi!”

Addressing residents at the home of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) National Chairman David Ole Parseina, Gachagua expressed confidence in his party’s prospects.
“Hii chama ndio itaunda serikali mwaka ujao. Tukipanga serikali, watu wa Kajiado na jamii ya Maa watakuwa kwa meza ya kitaifa!” he said. He added: “Kajiado mkinifanya niwe rais nitapanga watu wenu kwa serikali yangu!”
