Gachagua hosts Kiambu Jubilee party leaders at his Wamunyoro residence

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday, February 7, 2025, hosted Kiambu County leadership of the Jubilee party at his Wamunyoro residence.
The leaders were former Limuru MP Hon Peter Mwathi, Kiambu County Jubilee party chairman George Maara, organizing-secretary Dismas Kamau, Minority Leader in the Kiambu County Assembly Joe Kigara and nominated MCA Lucy Wanjiku.
“We discussed various issues affecting our country today and the options on how to deal with them. We also shared around the lessons learnt from our last political contest in 2022, and how to leverage these lessons into a common future for our region and our nation,” Gachagua said in a statement.
Gachagua, who has been holding political meetings at his Wamunyoro home, has on several occassions promised that he would form a political alliance with like-minded leaders with the intention of toppling his former boss William Ruto in 2027.
Gachagua is expected to address all vernacular radio stations in the greater Mount Kenya region on Sunday, February 9, 2025, to explain why he failed to unveil a political formation for the 2027 general elections.
“In two weeks, I will provide direction, and I will do so in a live television interview. I am still consulting, but early next month, I will make a pronouncement,” Gachagua said at Matanya PCEA, Laikipia County on January 19, 2025.

However, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, Gachagua said that he was unable to provide a clear direction on the party because several leaders from regions other than Mount Kenya had expressed interest in being enjoined.
He promised that he would engage in further consultations with various leaders and announce the political direction for Mount Kenya region.
“I am late in announcing Mount Kenya’s direction, and I apologize. I thought only the mountain was interested, but the goodwill is overwhelming, with interest coming from across the country,” Gachagua said.
Adding: “”On Sunday, February 9, 2025, I will gather all Mount Kenya vernacular media stations so they can air my interim report on our political direction. I will also ask for more time to continue gathering views.”
