Gachagua continues with voter engagement in Mbeere North ahead of decisive by-election
By Joel Masibo, November 22, 2025Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued engaging the electorate in Mbeere North Constituency, Embu County, ahead of the scheduled Thursday, November 27, 2025, Member of Parliament (MP) by-election in the area.
A day after the election campaigns officially ended as per the guidelines of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Gachagua woke up Saturday morning, November 22, 2025, engaging local communities in the region.
The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader embarked on a morning walk in the midst of selling the vision of the Democratic Party (DP) candidate Newton Karish in the particular mini polls.
Morning engagements
”An early and healthy morning walk through the villages of Mbeere North reminds me of the resilience and determination of our people. Listening to the voices of the residents, I am inspired and applaud their resolute commitment to building a better Mbeere North and a stronger Kenya,” Gachagua stated.

While drumming up support for Karish against the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Leo Muthende, the former DP has been insisting that the Mbeere North voters have decided to be led by the DP candidate, pointing out that the community is well informed, as far as making the right choice in the forthcoming by-election is concerned.
”Deep in Karingiri village, the community has spoken loud and clear. They are well-informed and united in their stance: lies, conmanship, innuendos, and all forms of thuggery shall never again find a place in our elections. We continue to engage with wananchi, exposing the corrupt and economic saboteurs for who they truly are,” Gachagua said.
Communal politics
Rigathi Gachagua has also maintained that he remains active in uniting the Mount Kenya region community while charting a clear political path heading into the 2027 general election.

”We are currently engaged in an internal community discussion as we deliberate on our way forward. We are committed to charting our own political path. The results will be announced soon.”
“Asanteni sana, wananchi wa Kaúngu Shopping Centre in Nthawa Ward, Mbeere North. We are making progress towards an equal society!” Gachagua said on Friday, November 21, 2025, while on the campaign trail.
For the better part of the week, Rigathi Gachagua has been pitching camp in Mbeere North Constituency to counter Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who has also been camping in the area campaigning for UDA’s candidate for the MP seat in the forthcoming mini polls, Leo Muthende.
