Emurua Dikirr MP-elect David Keter to be sworn in on Tuesday
Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament-elect David Keter’s swearing-in ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the National Assembly.
In a statement by Keter on his Facebook page on Thursday, May 21, 2026, Keter said he has received communication confirming that the ceremony will be held at 2:30 pm.
“SWEARING-IN UPDATE. I have officially received communication that my swearing-in will be on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, at 2:30 PM at the National Assembly,” Keter said.

Keter thanked residents of Emurua Dikirr Constituency for electing him as their Member of Parliament, pledging to serve all residents equally and work towards addressing the constituency’s needs and priorities.
“We thank God for this far He has brought us. I sincerely thank the people of Emurua Dikirr Constituency for giving me the opportunity to serve you as your Member of Parliament,” Keter said.
The MP-elect also expressed gratitude for the support, prayers, and confidence shown to him during the election period, promising to work hard to move the constituency forward.
“I am fully committed to serving all residents equally and working hard to address the needs and priorities of our people,” he added.
By-election results
Keter was declared the winner of the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary by-election after garnering 18,266 votes in the highly contested May 14 by-elections.
Caleb Gekonde, the IEBC Returning Officer for Member of National Assembly for Emurua Dikirr Constituency in Narok County, declared Keter the winner after defeating Democratic Congress Party (DCP) candidate Vincent Kibet Rotich, who garnered 10,760 votes.

National Vision Party (NVP) candidate Gideon Koech came third with 190 votes, while Cherono Desma of the Party of National Unity (PNU) secured 80 votes. Reform Liberation Party (RLP) candidate Kiprono Rotich trailed with 62 votes.
“Caleb Gekonde, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officer for Member of National Assembly for Emurua Dikirr Constituency in Narok County, declared David Kipsang Keter of UDA Party the winner after getting 18,266 votes. Vincent Kibet Rotich of the DCP Party finished second with 10,760 votes. Out of the 44,353 registered voters, 29,538 votes were cast, giving a voter turnout of 66.6 per cent,” the IEBC stated in a statement on May 5, 2026.
The seat fell vacant following the death of former MP Johana Ngeno, who perished in a helicopter crash at Chepkiep village, Mosop Sub-county in Nandi County on February 28, alongside five other people.
