Bobi Wine reveals his home is still under heavy military surveillance
Uganda’s opposition leader, Bobi Wine, has revealed that his home is still under heavy military surveillance forty days after Uganda’s general elections, which saw him run to a hideout.
In a post on his official X account on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Bobi Wine explained that he is still receiving threats from Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
“40 days ago, Museveni yet again usurped the will of the people of Uganda and declared himself the winner of a sham election on gunpoint. The military continues to surround and occupy my home,” Wine said.
Uganda’s opposition leader has further revealed that he has been receiving threats alongside other opposition leaders from General Muhoozi.
“Museveni’s criminal son continues to issue threats against other Ugandans and me, opposed to his father’s illegitimate rule. Yesterday, they did the unthinkable and blocked prayers at Lubaga Cathedral,” he added.
“Amidst all this, I am sending this message to all of us to continue being resilient and exercise the highest level of faith that our country will be free. I thank every Ugandan who has protected me from the evil criminals over the past 40 days,” he added.

Wine’s house under attack
Talking to his official X account on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Bobi Wine issued an update on the attack, which he described as having happened the night of Monday, February 2, 2026.
According to Wine, the officers vandalised his house, and he is unable to assess the extent of the destruction caused by the officers.
“We are still unable to assess the extent of the destruction caused to the house when they first broke it and vandalised it on 23rd January,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Wine has confirmed that his family members have been locked out of their house, hence unable to take stock of items and documents the armed men seized from the house.
“Neither have we been able to take stock of what items and documents the armed men seized from the house, since none of our family members has ever been allowed to access it since the attack happened,” he added.
