Azimio leader Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua yesterday led their team in condemning president William Ruto’s administration over “openly fanning ethnicity.”

The remarks come hot on the heels of the appointment of Cap William Ruto as the new Managing Director of Kenya Ports Authority.

Addressing a rally in Mtwapa, Kilifi, in his day-two tour of the Coast and ahead of the planned mass action, Raila said in the few months of his reign, President Ruto’s administration has openly ignored the rule of law in favour of tribalism.

While citing the resent appointment of the KPA boss, Karua said the move goes to show the president has forgotten the law on appointment and employment.

Similar sentiments were reckoned by Kilifi senatorial aspirant Fikirini Jacobs and Deputy Governor Florah Chibule who faulted the appointment of Cap Ruto on account of tribalism.
