The Central Organization Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli says Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i should order the arrest of Deputy President William Ruto over his continued attacks on the government and State officers.

Atwoli’s sentiments follow Ruto’s recent rants over the alleged heavy deployment of police officers to some parts of the Rift Valley region.

Ruto had claimed the move would trigger residents and distort peace in the region.

Speaking in Kisii on Tuesday during Azimio la Umoja One Kenya campaign rally, Atwoli said the DP’s remarks were becoming extreme and the government should now take action against him.

He claimed Ruto’s remarks were out of order and intimidates security officers.

Wangapi wanasema awekwe ndani?” he piqqued.

Further Atwoli asked Ruto to respect police officers.

Let him respect the police, the police cannot issue papers to say other tribes to vacate a certain area.”
