NSE, ICIFA sign knowledge-sharing deal to drive capital market growth
The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has announced a new partnership with the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) in a move aimed at strengthening investment education and supporting long-term growth of Kenya’s capital markets.
In a statement shared on its X account on Thursday, July 2, 2026, NSE said the two institutions had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on knowledge sharing, capacity building, student engagement, investment education, and thought leadership to support the development of the country’s financial markets.
The agreement was signed by NSE Chief Executive Officer Frank Mwiti and ICIFA Chief Executive Officer Diana Muriuki-Maina, with both institutions expressing commitment to building the next generation of finance and investment professionals.
Boosting financial knowledge
According to NSE, the partnership seeks to deepen financial literacy and create more opportunities for young professionals and students seeking careers in investment and financial analysis.
“The NSE and ICIFA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster knowledge sharing, capacity building, investment education, student engagement and thought leadership in support of Kenya’s capital markets,” NSE stated.

The bourse added that the collaboration reflects a shared vision of strengthening professional expertise within the financial sector while expanding public understanding of investment opportunities.
Focus on future professionals
The partnership is also expected to play a key role in preparing future financial experts by increasing engagement between students, professionals, and institutions operating in Kenya’s capital markets ecosystem.
“The MoU reaffirms both institutions’ shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of finance and investment professionals while driving sustainable market growth,” NSE said.
The latest deal comes as Kenya continues efforts to deepen participation in capital markets and encourage more retail investors to take advantage of investment opportunities available through the securities exchange.
Growing capital markets
Industry stakeholders have increasingly pushed for stronger financial education programmes as part of efforts to improve investor confidence and expand participation in the stock market.
The NSE has in recent years intensified collaborations with institutions across the education and finance sectors as it seeks to position Kenya’s capital markets as a key driver of economic growth and sustainable investment in the region.
