Wiper Democratic party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has stated that he will not involve himself in the election of speaker positions mostly in Kamba region assemblies saying he has no preferred candidate.

Kalonzo has said that the elected and nominated MCAs have the right to choose their leader whom they think they can deliver under his/her leadership.

“I have no preferred candidate for any of the assemblies let the MCA’s choose who to lead them knowing that they have a critical role in the devolved units,” Kalonzo said.

He was speaking after meeting with all nominated MCAs under the Wiper Democratic party which has taken place in Nairobi Kenya.

Meanwhile, Makueni nominated MCA Sarah Mulwa speaking on behalf of the others, has said that they have received blessings from their party leader to choose whoever they feel can lead them well.

“Let all interested individuals in the county assemblies talk to the MCAs without using Kalonzo’s name to win the speaker job,” Sarah said.

All the interested individuals in the Kitui assembly speaker job have up to Monday, 19th 2022 9 am to submit their applications.

All county assemblies will swear in MCAs this week.
