By , August 19, 2022

The Kitui County Assembly will have a large number of newcomers after a majority of incumbents lost in last week’s election. Only four of the 40 MCAs returned to the House.

Among the 36 who lost their seats is Leader of Majority Peter Kilonzo (pictured) of Athi Ward.

Kilonzo, who defended his seat on a Wiper ticket, lost to Kieti Othothea who garnered 3,000 against his 1,600.

The four who were re-elected are Alex Nganga of Miambani (Narc), David Masaku (Jubilee Party), Stephen Katana (Independent) and Sylvester Munyalo (Narc).  Of the 40 elected MCAs, Judith Wanza is the only female member.
