The World Kickboxing Federation of Kenya (WKF-Kenya) yesterday announced a change in venue for the highly anticipated World Kickboxing Federation Kenya President’s Cup, originally scheduled for this Saturday.

According to a statement from the federation, the event will now take place at Pumwani Social Hall, also known as “Pal Pal,” with the action set to kick off at exactly 10 am.

The decision to shift the venue from Kasarani to Pumwani Social Hall was made due to circumstances beyond the federation’s control. This development comes as a surprise to fighters, spectators, and all stakeholders eagerly awaiting the spectacle. Under the astute leadership of its chairperson Japheth Yahuma Adongo, also known as “Takid Master,” the World Kickboxing Federation of Kenya has embarked on a journey to foster talent growth, nurturing it from the grassroots level to the national stage.

Since its inception earlier this year (January), the federation has “organised three successful events to develop and promote talent growth from the grassroots all the way up to the national level.”

The journey began at Kayole Social Hall 2, the home ground of the Hardcore Mixed Martial Arts Club, which played host to the National Seminar on June 24. This inaugural event marked the foundation of WKF-Kenya’s efforts to cultivate a vibrant kickboxing community.

Continuing their momentum, the Nakuru County World Kickboxing Federation Kenya National Championship took place on July 8, 2023. This second tournament organized by WKF-Kenya showcased participants from various categories, celebrating the champions who emerged from intense competitions.

In a bid to further unite the kickboxing community, Kangemi Social Hall, specifically the Lion Heart Club Center, held the first Nairobi County All Clubs joint training event initiated by the Takid Master-led federation.

This event drew participants from diverse locales, including Kiambu and Muranga Counties, resulting in an overwhelmingly positive response.
