Why Kenya Police acquired Thika Queens
FKF Premier League side Kenya Police FC have announced the acquisition of Women’s Premier League side Thika Queens Football Club.
This announcement comes days after CAF announced that clubs will need to comply with Club Licensing regulations which includes having a registered women’s team by June 30.
Why Kenya Police- Thika?
Kenya Police FC and Thika Queens FC have announced a significant partnership, representing a groundbreaking alliance between the well-known institution and the respected women’s football club.

This collaboration aims to boost the development of women’s football in Kenya to new and extraordinary levels. The Club is expected to be renamed Kenya Police Bullets Football Club.
“The management and Board of Trustees of Kenya Police FC and the management of Thika Queens FC are pleased to announce a significant development in Kenyan football. In a mutually beneficial agreement, Kenya Police FC has acquired Thika Queens Football Club, forging a new era of collaboration and growth of women football in the country,” reads a statement released by Police.
“This groundbreaking partnership marks an exciting chapter in the history of both clubs. Kenya Police FC, a renowned institution with a rich footballing heritage, and Thika Queens FC, a highly respected women’s football club, have come together to foster unity, inclusivity, and enhanced opportunities for players, staff, and fans alike,” the statement adds.
According to the two clubs, the fundamental goal of their partnership is to empower and develop women’s football throughout the country.
Thika Queens FC have played an important part in the growth of women’s football in Kenya with players from their ranks moving to play for youth and senior national women’s teams while some have landed professional football chances overseas.

Thika Queens FC hope to build momentum and increase its reach and effect on the national and international stages with the support of Kenya Police FC.
“With the support and backing of Kenya Police FC management and Board of Trustees, we believe Thika Queens FC will gain further momentum, expanding its reach and impact on the national and international stage,” the statement reads.
