Why Ebenezer Adukwaw could be man to turn Gor Mahia’s season around
By Luke Oluoch, October 13, 2025Gor Mahia’s history is replete with players who went on to etch their names in the club’s folklore.
From the Ugandan duo of Khalid Aucho and Danny Sserunkuma, Meddie Kagere, to Michael Olunga, K’Ogalo’s story has never been short of acclaimed individuals who neared cult hero status with the team.
In the new campaign, Ghanaian import Ebenezer Adukwaw has shown promising signs, if his start to the FKF PL league is anything to go by.
Ironically, the sighting of him and George Ammono during their signing, back in August 2025, elicited skepticism among fans. The attacker’s unattached status before his move to the record champions proved a point of concern.
And Gor kicking off the league campaign with a defeat did little to dispel those doubts.
In a move akin to saving the best for the second game and perhaps the rest, Adukwa was on a roll against Sofapaka FC. The former Elmina Sharks star bagged a brace in the second match for Gor’s first win.
And just when Gor Mahia needed proof of who could be relied on for the goal-getting duties for the season, he popped up with a bolt of the blue for his second goal.

The attacker showed rare awareness to lob a long-range effort over Sofapaka’s keeper to complete his brace.
A goal worthy of winning any match had fans and pundits alike in an early talk of the contenders for the goal of the month for the new season.
The attacker carried the form to the next league tie, with a moment of individual brilliance to lay the ball on the plate for Felix Oluoch, who scored trhe match winner.
Heading to the first international break, Adukwaw has recorded three goal involvements in as many matches.
Pretty early days into the season, however, with Gor Mahia’s offensive line boasting not-so-experienced array of players, the Ghanaian, whose arrival divided opinions, could be the player to spearhead Gor’s push for silverware in the season.
