Wanyonyi vows to crush Mandonga in rematch action
Kenyan boxing coach Julius Odhiambo has urged his boxer, Daniel Wanyonyi, to give his all in the upcoming rematch against Tanzanian opponent Karim ‘Mtu Kazi’ Mandonga.
Odhiambo believes that Wanyonyi has the skills and tactics to defeat Mandonga, whom he considers to be an average boxer lacking in strategic abilities.
The coach is confident that Wanyonyi will dominate the match and expects him to finish off Mandonga within the first three rounds.
“I have instructed him (Wanyonyi) to make life extremely difficult for Mandonga in the ring. I have guided him well to beat the living daylights out of Mandonga.
I must say that Mandonga is an average boxer with no tactical acumen and believe me, Wanyonyi shall carry the day, “said Odhiambo
Odhiambo has called on Kenyan boxing fans to attend the bout at the Sarit Expo Centre in Westlands, this Saturday, to witness Wanyonyi’s victory firsthand.
He believes that Wanyonyi has been well-prepared and trained to outpoint Mandonga, and it’s now up to the boxer to demonstrate his training in the ring.
Responding to the coach’s remarks, Wanyonyi warned Mandonga that he should be prepared for a frustrating and forgettable fight. Wanyonyi, who previously lost to Mandonga in a controversial match, is determined to prove himself and deliver a resounding victory.
He draws confidence from his recent TKO win over Charles Kakande from Uganda and promises to replicate that success against Mandonga.
“I want to let Mandonga know that my win over Kakande was not a flash in the pan. I just cannot wait to teach the Tanzanian a few boxing lessons,”
In a quick rejoinder, Mandonga dismissed Wanyonyi’s threats and expressed his confidence in defeating him. He asserted that he would beat Wanyonyi in front of Kenyan boxing fans, regardless of the outcome.
“I shall beat Wanyonyi before Kenyan boxing fans whether he likes it or not. I have undergone enough training in Morogori and I want to urge Tanzanians residing in Nairobi to turn up in large numbers to witness first-hand my victory over Wanyonyi,”
Mandonga claimed to have undergone extensive training in Morogoro and invited Tanzanians residing in Nairobi to support him and witness his victory over Wanyonyi. He also mentioned a new punch called the “Kinguki” from Russia, which he intends to utilize during the fight.
Meanwhile, fight promoter Maurice Odera stated that he organized the rematch due to perceived bias in the previous fight.
