Ulinzi Warriors take battle to Strathmore Blades in playoffs
Former Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s premier league runners-up Strathmore Blades and league reigning champions Ulinzi Warriors are set to face off in the KBF best-of-five semifinal playoffs this weekend.
The meeting at Nyayo Stadium will be a replica of best-of-five semifinal playoffs the same year where Blades emerged 3-1 winners. Extrovert Blades Coach Tony Ochieng’ is hoping to get past the Warriors once again but reckons that it may not be easy against Ulinzi as most fans tend to believe.
Ochieng’ said their target is to make it to the finals and that his boys are well aware of the task ahead of them, adding that he plans to rely on execution accuracy to stop the champions.
“We are aiming to stop the Ulinzi Warriors’ experienced guards. I believe in the zeal, energy, and determination of my team and if we continue with our execution accuracy then we should post a positive result. My boys would want to play in the finals and we know what it means in semis,” Strathmore Blades coach Tony Ochieng told People Sport.
