Tusker FC Chris Erambo has opened up on his renewed sense of motivation after winning the club’s Player of the Month accolade.

The burly midfielder was on Friday, February 14, 2025, recognized as the club’s outstanding player for February in a ceremony held at the club base in Ruaraka.

Speaking after his crowning, Erambo discussed the team’s overall targets for the season, starting with the impending league clash against rivals Gor Mahia.

The two teams face off this Sunday, February 16, 2025, and the player has tipped the accolade to spur the team for the clash.

“Winning this award is a huge motivation. Personally, for me to receive it, it is a proper motivation for the clash against Gor Mahia on Sunday,” he told the club portal.

Erambo, who shrugged off competition from Ryan Ogam, the club’s top scorer and Shafan Daddy Odoyo, admitted to the importance of teamwork to his coronation.

“During the previous player of the month award, we talked and decided that it would be proper to have a different candidate. The talk pushed me to do better, and here I am. It’s me getting the award today, but credit to the entire team. Without their input, I would not have been voted the best.

The burly midfielder further asserted that the season’s targets for the 13-time KPL winners remain viable.

“We have a good streak, and this motivates us. I think we will achieve our targets. Our eyes are firmly on the league, FKF Cup, and CAF games, and it’s a good step towards our journey to achieving our goals,” he added.

Charles Okere’s charges braced a dip in an ice-cold bath as part of bolstering preparations for the potentially decisive tie.

Tusker head into the tie desperate for a win after enduring a winless result in their recent couple of games.

The Brewers registered a 0-0 draw against KCB, and we’re also locked in a stalemate against Police FC in their last league engagement.

The outcomes had them cede ground with Gor Mahia taking the advantage to narrow the gap between them to four points.

Additionally, the club’s coaching staff, led by Head Coach Charles Okere and his assistant George Maina were recognized for their outstanding work which sees the former champions remain joint top of the table alongside Kenya Police in the FKF Premier League.

The clash against Gor will kick off at 4:00 PM in Machakos.
