Transmara to host Narok County School Games as preparations complete

Transmara West sub-county is set to host this year’s Narok County Secondary Schools Term One A Games, which kick off on Wednesday at Kilgoris DEB Primary School.
According to Narok County Secondary School Sports Association Secretary Jacob Barusei, all preparations are complete for the three-day event, which will feature teams from eight sub-counties
across the vast county.
Apart from Kilgoris DEB, other venues hosting the competitions include Friends School Poroko, Kilgoris Girls, and Kilgoris Boys.
The schools will battle for top honors in athletics, handball, basketball 5×5, rugby 15s, cross country, and hockey.
Barusei stated that participants will arrive on Wednesday, with a coordination clinic for referees and coaches scheduled for the same day at Kilgoris Boys.
He emphasized that all referees appointed to officiate the matches will execute their duties professionally and impartially, warning that poor officiating will not be tolerated.
Additionally, he urged all players to maintain discipline throughout the tournament.
“The students should take the tournament seriously and use it as a platform to showcase their talents. This is an opportunity for them to develop both in sports and other areas of growth,” said Barusei.
Meanwhile, former national schools’ boys’ hockey champions, Narok Boys High School, are expected to assert their dominance in the tournament. Their journey to the next level will depend on how well they perform against their main rivals—Ololulunga Boys, Talek Boys, and Eor Ekule—in a round-robin format.
