Another remarkable talent from Tanzania is Rogers Mtagwa, who competed professionally from 1997 to 2014. Mtagwa made three attempts at a world title, challenging for the WBO junior featherweight title in 2009, the WBA featherweight title in 2010, and the WBC featherweight title in 2011.
Additionally, Halfan Hythani Hamza, known as Hassan Mwakinyo or Tornado, has achieved success in the ring. Hamza held the WBF Intercontinental light-middleweight title twice in 2020 and previously secured the Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) International super light-middleweight title in 2018.

Seleman Salum Kidunda, another Tanzanian boxer, participated in the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the men’s welterweight event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Unfortunately, Kidunda faced a controversial loss in the first round due to alleged referee mistakes against Moldovan Vasile Belous.

BoxRec, a website dedicated to boxing records, ranked Matumla as the top boxer in Tanzania.
