Gor Mahia defender Sylvester Owino is adamant that the record Kenyan Premier League winners are ready and psyched up for their next league assignments against defending champions, Kenya Police FC, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium at 4:00 pm.

In his pre-match interview with the club, the defender revealed that K’Ogalo will be seeking to bounce back to their winning ways after dropping points against Ulinzi Stars in their previous outing. Gor Mahia were held to a 1-1 stalemate by the Soldiers in their last fixture.

Going for Police’s scalp

”Being that we did not get maximum points in our previous game, I think the boys are psyched up to ensure we get maximum points in our next match against Kenya Police.”

“There is not much pressure, but as a team, we always want to concede fewer goals come the end of the season, so we will continue working towards that,” Owino said.

With Police now concentrating on local affairs after crashing out of the CAF Champions League, Owino is wary of the danger the law enforcers pose to Charles Akonnor’s men but remains optimistic that the Green Army will rise to the occasion on Sunday.

”They are a tough side; I know it is not going to be easy, but mentally I think we are equally prepared and ready to push. To the fans, it can only get better; they should continue coming in numbers and fill the stadium,” Owino added.

Placed second on the log with 13 points, Gor Mahia will be out trying to close the gap and leapfrog leaders Kakamega Homeboyz, who lead the pack with 14 points. On the other hand, Police FC will be aiming to build on their 1-0 win over Posta Rangers in their last outing.
