Strathmore Leos reign supreme as Prinsloo 7s standings take shape

Strathmore Leos confirmed their dominance in the second leg of the national sevens circuit, 2025 Prinsloo 7s by trashing KCB Rugby 24-7 in the final to retain their title in style at the Nakuru Athletics Club on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

The Leos, who showcased consistency, pace, and tactical brilliance throughout the weekend, now top the standings with 22 points.

KCB Rugby, who had come into the Nakuru, hosted leg riding high after winning the opening round, Driftwood 7s in Mombasa last weekend, fell short in the final but still managed to secure a solid second-place standing with 19 points as they seek to bounce back in the third leg of the national sevens circuit, Christie sevens.

Catholic Monks, one of the surprise packages of this year’s Sevens Circuit, held their own to finish third on 17 points, followed closely by Menengai Oilers with 15 points and hosts Nakuru RFC with 13. Kenya Harlequin FC sit sixth with 12 points while Kabras Sugar and Mwamba RFC are tied at 10 points each, rounding out the top eight.

Daystar Falcons claimed ninth spot with 8 points, edging out the students of Zetech Oaks, who follow closely in 10th with 7 points. Impala RFC and Nondescripts are locked on 5 points each in 11th and 12th place, respectively, with MSC Rugby on 3 points in 13th.

Stallions Rugby (2 points), Kisumu Rugby (1 point), and MMUST (1 point) occupy the bottom three positions of the standings, struggling to find rhythm in a competitive field.
