Sofapaka FC have bolstered their squad with eight new signings during the ongoing midseason transfer window in a bid to revitalize their performance in the FKF Premier League campaign.

The 2009 Premier League Champions focused on recruits from lower tiers, with Victor Odhiambo Okello being the sole signing from the top tier, joining from FKF PL side Murang’a Seal to strengthen their defensive options.

Stallone Goal Asaba joined from the National Super League side Kibera Black Stars, and Adan Dida Godana came in from ASEC Huruma FC.

Rodgers Kipkemoi, formerly with Sunderland AFC Keroche, and Victor Augo Akumu, formerly with Dandora FC Youth, were also added to the squad.

These signings follow Sofapaka‘s recent appointment of Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno as their new head coach, marking Zico’s return to the top flight since leaving KCB before the current season.

The decision to bring in Zico is aimed at stabilizing Sofapaka after a challenging start to the campaign.

Sofapaka FC changes

Zico’s arrival prompted the redeployment of Ezekiel Akwana, who had been in charge since the departure of Francis Harigingo, to the assistant coach position.

Sofapaka has undergone multiple coaching changes this season, initially parting ways with their Burundian tactician due to a string of six defeats.

Although Akwana brought some stability, Sofapaka has struggled to climb out of the relegation zone.

Currently, Sofapaka and Nzoia Sugar share the record for the most losses (10) in the 18-team table, with Nzoia Sugar positioned at the bottom.
