Muthaiga Golf Club’s pro Greg Snow has taken a commanding lead in the ongoing Safari Golf Tour series at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club, heading into the final round, after he garnered four shots in the third round yesterday to place him first on the leader board with a resounding overall score of -10.

Trailing Greg Snow on the leader board is home golfer Mohit Mediratta who dropped a shot in the third round to card in a score of -6 after a disappointing bogey at hole 12 and a double bogey at the 13th.
Commenting on his improved stroke that gained him the lead with a score he had not registered last season Greg Snow revealed changes in his swinging and his coach.

“I got into a good start in the front nine but I feel like I left a few shots in the back nine. This sea-son I have changed a few things including my swing and I have been training with my new coach- Johnny Limb for the past couple of months and things have started working out well and it’s paying off. To win the title I will have to be patient and execute every chance I get.” Greg Snow told People Sports.

Greg gained four shots in his front nine thanks to four birdies at holes 3, 4, 5 and 9 to take over the leader board after his closest rival Mohit Mediratta who could only manage to gain one shot in the front nine off a birdie at the 7th.

The two professionals will be expecting a tough final and could be given a run for their money by Muthaiga’s Njoroge Kibugu who turned around his game at the back nine to up his score to -5. As a result Kibugu settled for a joint third spot on the leader board alongside Samuel Njoroge of Kenya Railways golf club.

Njoroge Kibugu carded in a total of five birdies whilst maintaining par throughout and was the sole player in the third round to fail to pick a bogey.

With a cash prize kitty of one million shillings to be contested in the final round today, every stroke will count for the 20 players who were left in contention after Jastas Madoya was left heartbroken with unseen disqualification shortly after he carded in an impressive -2.

Meanwhile Dismas Indiza and Riz Charania gained three shots each to settle for position four and five with a score of -4 and -3 respectively.

Tony Omuli who has the sole hole in one in the tourney, gained two shots to sit sixth with -2 while the trio of Mike Kisia, Mutahi Kibugu and Daniel Nduva settled for par each to tie at 7th place.
