Shabana FC raids Tusker for midfielder David Odoyo
Shabana FC has announced the acquisition of midfielder David Odoyo from Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Tusker FC.
The Gusii-based club confirmed the signing through its X page this Saturday, August 16, 2025, as part of the team’s rebuilding phase ahead of the start of the new season.
“We are delighted to announce the arrival of David Odoyo, fondly known as Daddy CDM, who officially joins the Shabana FC Family from Tusker FC!
A powerhouse in midfield, Daddy CDM brings grit, composure, and experience that will strengthen our engine room as we chase greatness this season,” a statement from Shabana read.
Odoyo’s capture adds to the recent signings by the club, which finished fifth in the 2024 season with 53 points.
Following the season, Peter Okidi’s side has been busy on the transfer front, with the hugely followed club making two statement signings. Among the headline inbound moves is that of Biron Otieno.

The swashbuckling midfielder snubbed interest from Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards to agree to a contract with the Tore Bobe. Otieno formerly with Kariobangi Sharks, was among the standout performers with his impressive midfield show in the 2025 season.
The midfielder vowed to inspire the Gusii-based club to a title following his switch to the club.
Give my best
“I am ready to play for a club with a huge fan base. I’m ready to chase a title here. I want to tell the fans that I will give my best in the games I will feature for the team,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the club confirmed the signing of midfielder Vincent Otieno from relegated side Nairobi City Stars on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Vincent Otieno, who arrives from Nairobi City Stars. Karibu Oti,” Tusker stated.
Otieno, known for his tireless engine and eye for goal, was a standout performer for City Stars last season. He finished as their top scorer in the 2023/24 FKF Premier League campaign with eight goals, impressive numbers for a midfielder. In the 2024/25 FKF Premier League season, Owino was also impressive.
