Harambee Stars are gearing up for their second CAF World Cup qualifiers match against Seychelles at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, scheduled to kick off at 10:00 p.m.

The Stars are eager to rebound to winning form following their defeat in the opening match against Gabon last week.

In that encounter, Harambee Stars suffered a 2-1 loss to Gabon, despite initially taking the lead through a goal from Masoud Juma. However, Gabon mounted a comeback to secure the victory in the first Group F match.

This defeat extended Harambee Stars’ challenging run in World Cup qualifiers, where they have managed just two wins in the last 10 qualifiers. Over this period, the team has conceded 12 goals while scoring seven.

Their upcoming opponents, Seychelles, enter this match after a disappointing 9-0 loss to Ivory Coast in their opening fixture.

Seychelles have struggled in World Cup qualifiers, failing to register a win since 2000. The best result they have achieved in qualifiers is a draw, which occurred against Zambia in 2003.

Since then, they have suffered losses in the last 13 World Cup qualifiers and last scored in the qualifiers in 2008. In their recent five matches, Seychelles have failed to score, conceding 22 goals.

In the last five matches, Harambee Stars have recorded one win, one draw, and three losses. The lone win in this period came against Qatar in an international friendly.

Meanwhile, Seychelles have faced four consecutive losses since defeating Bangladesh in a friendly in March.

Both teams currently sit at the bottom of Group F, each without any points, occupying the fifth and sixth positions.
