Raila donates Ksh10M to Gor Mahia

The gesture, described by the club as monumental, is aimed at supporting administrative functions and strengthening the team as they prepare to compete at the highest level.
In a statement posted by Gor Mahia FC on its official Facebook account on Friday, October 3, 2025, Gor Mahia said, “A landmark breakfast! An incredible visit to our Patron, Hon. Raila Odinga and Mama Ida Odinga’s home in Karen. The club management had a good time; in a demonstration of his unwavering commitment and truly generous gesture, our Patron presented the club with a monumental gift of Ksh10 million to support administrative functions. We are deeply grateful to our Patron and his family,” the club’s statement reads.
Raila Odinga also expressed his support for the club, wishing them success in the upcoming season.
“As the new football season kicks off, I had the pleasure of being briefed by Gor Mahia Football Club’s executive team, led by Chairman Ambrose Rachier, on the club’s campaign plans for the season. Wishing K’Ogalo all the very best as they fly the Green flag higher and strive to return as champions once again. Let’s go Gor Mahia!” Raila said.
The donation has already drawn praise from football enthusiasts, with Nairobi women’s representative Esther Passaris highlighting its significance for Kenyan football.
“Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga has donated Ksh10 million to Gor Mahia football Team for the 2025/26 season, a massive boost that pushes Kenyan football closer to the global stage. Maybe one day Gor Mahia will line up against Baba’s Premier League side, Arsenal,” Passaris tweeted.
