Rachier speaks out after dismissal of Gor Mahia’s technical bench
By Luke Oluoch, July 2, 2025Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has broken his silence after the team decided to sack its entire technical bench following a season in which K’Ogalo endured an inconsistent campaign, ending the season trophyless.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the chairman revealed the decision to dismiss the technical bench was reached mutually and amicably in the best interest of both parties.
Mutual and amicable
“We had a meeting about it, and we went through the contract for those with written contracts individually. It was something amicable and mutual, and taking account of their own dignity. They have signed without any pressure,” he stated.
In a move to avoid any legal run-ins with the club afterwards, the lawyer added that the process was meticulously undertaken to avoid
“We started on the premise of what the contracts stated. And we went beyond the contracts just to say we are not blaming an individual since when you put the element of blame, then you open an avenue for litigation, which is not necessary,” he added.
CEO Oruo exits
The foregoing comes after the club also confirmed the mutual parting of ways with Chief Executive Officer Ray Oruo, just hours after the entire technical bench was shown the door in the wake of a trophyless 2024/25 season.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the club termed Oruo’s exit as part of the restructuring ahead of the next campaigns.
“Gor Mahia Football Club wishes to announce that it has mutually agreed to part ways with Chief Executive Officer, Ray Oruo,” read the statement.

The exit of Oruo marks yet another major change in the club’s leadership structure, as Gor Mahia looks to hit the reset button after a disappointing campaign that saw them miss out on both domestic and continental silverware.
While the club did not explicitly link Oruo’s departure to the team’s performance, the timing—just hours after the sacking of the technical team—suggests a sweeping internal shake-up is underway.

The statement, signed by Vice Chairperson Sally Bolo, acknowledged Oruo’s contribution during his tenure:
“We thank Oruo for his service and contributions to the club during his tenure and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” read the statement.
No immediate replacement was announced, but the club assured fans that the recruitment process is imminent:
“The club will advertise the vacant position in the coming days.”
