Reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Police FC have paid tribute to attacking sensation Mohammed Bajaber, crediting him for playing a crucial part in the club’s maiden FKF Premier League title victory last season as the Harambee Stars prodigy departs the side.

Bajaber, who joined the Law Enforcers midway through the campaign from Nairobi City Stars, wasted no time making his mark, delivering match-winning performances that helped propel the side to the summit of Kenyan football.

In their farewell message on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Police lauded Bajaber’s contribution, describing his short stint as “truly memorable” and wishing him well as he embarks on a new chapter with Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club.

“It may have been a brief stay, but it was truly memorable. We bid farewell to Bajaber Mohammed, wishing him nothing but success as he embarks on his new journey with Simba Sports Club in Tanzania. Joining us midway through last season, Bajaber played a vital role in our title-winning campaign. Shine on, Star Boy,” the club said in a social media statement.

Bajaber was named among the Harambee Stars squad that is doing duty for the country at the ongoing 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship co-hosted in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Police FC will represent Kenya in this season’s CAF Champions League after winning the league title last campaign. The KPL champions will take on Somalia’s Mogadishu City Club in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. If the team progresses, they will face either South Sudan’s Jamus FC Juba or Sudan’s Al Hilal in the second round, with the aggregate winner securing a place in the group stage.

Police departures

Preparing for continental assignments, Police FC have released five players who played varying roles in the club’s recent success, in addition to Bajaber’s departure.

Striker David Irishura, known for his work rate and versatility upfront, is the latest to cut links with Police. Also, creative midfielder Francis Kahata has left the club, a seasoned playmaker with a decorated career in Kenyan football. Kenya Police FC described him as “a calm presence, technically gifted, and a respected figure in the dressing room”
