Gor Mahia patron Eliud Owalo has held a meeting with top bosses of the English Premier League side Bournemouth Football Club in the United Kingdom.

In a statement on Saturday, November 22, 2025, the Deputy Chief of Staff confirmed meeting Bournemouth’s Club President Jim Frevola, Commercial Director Rob Mitchell and Partnerships Development Manager Sam McIntyre.

According to Owalo, their discussion was centred on ways of partnership with the English top-flight side to develop Kenyan football.

“This evening I held a meeting with management of Bournemouth Football Club, led by the Club President Jim Frevola, Commercial Director Rob Mitchell, and Partnerships Development Manager Sam McIntyre,” Owalo’s statement read in part.

“Our discussions were centred on exploring opportunities for partnerships with Bournemouth FC in developing football in Kenya,” it added.

Watching their game

The meeting followed Owalo’s watching of the match, in which Bournemouth missed out on a chance to climb into the top four, as the Cherries came from behind to draw 2-2 with West Ham.

The Hammers had made the perfect start as Callum Wilson haunted his former club with two first-half goals before Andoni Iraola‘s side fought back with a dominant second-half display.

Owalo praised the energy displayed by both sides in that mouthwatering English Premier League clash on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

However, Iraola expressed frustration after his side dropped the points that would have pushed them into the top four.

“It is not a good result for us. We have made mistakes, and we cannot concede two goals that we conceded in the first half. Overall, we were much better and had so many changes, and also, I have to complain about the penalty. It is a clear red card. I don’t understand the decision, but we have to analyse our mistakes. They should have played 30 minutes with 10 players.

“They told me that it is not a denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity, but I can’t see a clearer one, in the six-yard box. Some of these decisions you see sides, but this one I see no elements. I don’t understand it,” Iraola said in a post-match interview
