NSL ultimate fight: 3 teams, 1 playoff dream as season comes to climax

As the curtain falls on the Football Kenya Federation National Super League (NSL), drama is expected across the country with eight final-day matches kicking off simultaneously at 3 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
While Nairobi United will officially be crowned champions at Dandora Stadium, the real heat is in the battle for third and a ticket to the FKF Premier League promotion playoff.
Dandora battle
Nairobi United may already be league winners, but their clash with Naivas FC is anything but a dead rubber. Naivas sit third with 59 points, level with Darajani Gogo but ahead on goal difference.
The playoff spot is theirs to lose, and a rematch against a side they narrowly edged in the first leg.
United will lift the trophy after the final whistle, but for Naivas, the 90 minutes could define their season. With Fortune Sacco lurking just two points behind in fifth, a slip-up could cost them everything.
Darajani Gogo, meanwhile, will be banking on more than their performance.
Hosting Luanda Villa at Marist International University in Karen, the Kibera-based club will be pushing for three points and crossing fingers that Naivas stumble in Dandora.
“The match will be like a final for us,” coach Paul Ogai said ahead of the showdown. “We don’t care what happens in the other games.”
Gogo fell 4-2 to Villa in the first leg, and with Villa hungry to end the season in the top 10, the stakes are equally high.

At Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Fortune Sacco will clash with Kisumu All Stars.
After squandering their advantage with a crucial 2-1 home defeat to Gogo last weekend, Fortune’s playoff dreams are on thin ice. Still, mathematically, a win and favorable results elsewhere could turn the tide.
More games
APS Bomet, already promoted to the Premier League, will host relegated SS Assad in what is likely their final top-tier match at Bomet Stadium, a ground unlikely to meet Premier League standards next season.
Other notable matches include Mombasa United versus Kibera Black Stars at Ukunda Grounds, 3K FC hosting MOFA in Embu, and Migori Youth squaring off against Nzoia in Migori.
As fans across the nation tune in, one thing is clear: the NSL finale isn’t just about crowning a champion. It’s about survival, ambition, and one last shot at the top topflight.
