Shabana FC showcased their dominance with a convincing 3-0 victory over Darajani Gogo in a National Super League match held on Friday at the Police Sacco Stadium.

The Kisii-based team, already securing their spot in the upcoming FKF Premier League, had an additional motivation to secure the league title.

With this win, they climbed back to the top of the league standings, holding a three-point lead.

In the first half, Shabana FC took control of the game, displaying their prowess. Their efforts paid off when Peter Ongechi skillfully curled the ball into the net from a free kick just outside the 18-yard box, giving Shabana a well-deserved 1-0 lead as they headed into halftime.

The second half saw Shabana FC maintain their dominance and intensify their attacking moves.

It took until the 70th minute for them to extend their lead when Ongechi rose above the defence to head in the second goal, providing Shabana with a comfortable advantage.

Continuing to apply pressure, Shabana FC sealed their victory in the 84th minute when Onchiri Nehemiah found the back of the net, securing the third and final goal of the match.

The comprehensive win further highlighted their strength and determination as they aim for the league title.

In other National Super League matches, MCF emerged as the biggest winners of the day, thrashing Kibera Blackstars 4-1.

Kisumu All-Stars and Coastal Heroes battled to a 1-1 draw, while Mombasa Elite and Mara Sugar settled for a goalless draw.

The action continues on Saturday with Silibwet set to face Naivas at Silibwet Stadium at 2 pm.

Migori Youth will host Gusii at Migori Stadium at 3 pm, and SS Assad will take on Mwatate United at Shamu Grounds, also at 3 pm.

Shabana, Muranga set for FKF PL

Shabana FC and Murang’a Seal have already secured their spots in the FKF Premier League for the next season. While there is one spot for the promotion playoffs.
