Naivas FC will this weekend host bottom-side Mombasa Elite FC in one of the highlights of the National Super League at Camp Toyoyo on Sunday hoping to stretch their lead at the top of the league.

With 29 points in the bag and a match in hand, Naivas look the business and have won all their past five games on the trot. On the other hand, Elite have had a difficult campaign not worthy of note as they sit on 10 points off 13 matches played and incidentally have lost all their past five games.

On paper, Naivas look clear favorites and this therefore will look like a difficult trip for the coastal lads.
In the last duel, Naivas beat previous league pacemen Mathare United 2-0 while Mombasa Elite handed a walkover to Vihiga Bullets in the past weekend.

The last four head to head encounters have seen the two sides finish their games in draws and one win in favor of Naivas (3-1) in March this year.

Meanwhile Mathare United in second will want to quickly regroup after their sudden fall to the new leaders Naivas last weekend. The slum boys under Leonard Odipo will face his former employers Kibera Black Stars in a derby that is expected to be exciting. The contest slated for tomorrow at Ligi Ndogo Grounds will see Mathare in second place and joint at 29 points hope to get the better of their rivals who are in 10th place with 16 points. Interestingly both sides have won three matches in their last five games and in the same period lost once and drawn once.

In the last game for Black Stars, it ended in a tie of 1-1 away to Kajiado FC and so they will be out to go one better against a Premiership contender.

Elsewhere, the duo of Kisumu All-Stars and Mara Sugar FC tied on 24 points also follow suit and are engaged for action as well. The Lakeside boys under Charles Bruno in third place incidentally destroyed Mara 5-2 last time out in Awendo but now face a tricky Darajani Gogo FC at Moi Stadium in Kisumu tomorrow.

Gogo based in Kibera is currently in sixth place with 21 points and in their last encounter, won 2-1 against Luanda Villa FC at Camp Toyoyo. The Sugar-men on their part meet fifth placed Nairobi United at Thika Stadium after their morale boosting 2-1 victory last weekend over Mombasa Stars.
