Musingu edge out St Joseph Kitale to storm FEASSA finals
By Luke Oluoch, August 22, 2025Musingu High School has sealed their spot in the 2025 Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Boys’ Football Final after edging St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale 4-3 on penalties in the semifinal clash staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu this Friday, August 2025.
The reigning Western regional finals claimed the spot in the finals thanks to goalkeeper Boaz Mushila, who thwarted two spot kicks in the clash rescheduled for Friday after being initially abandoned for fan violence.
The game had ended 1-1 after regulation time, before the Scorpions held their nerve in the shootout.
The high-stakes semifinals clash earlier staged at the Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega County was abandoned after Musingu fans invaded the pitch following Rickson Simiyu’s equaliser in the 85th minute.
JOBO beat Musingu in nationals
St Joseph’s, who beat the western side for their maiden national finals on August 2, 2025, had taken the lead in the clash through Steven Mwalati.
Marvin Ahiundu, however, restored parity with five minutes left on the clock, leaving the home fans to storm the pitch in jubilation.
The incident saw various players of the opposing team injured, prompting the cancellation of the game as efforts to clear the pitch bore no fruit.

They now set up a grand finale showdown against Bukedea Comprehensive School from Uganda with the regional EA title at stake.
The clash will see the Scorpions aiming to make amends by clinching the elusive regional title.
The Brendan Mwinamo-coached team failed to snap a 14-year wait for the Kenyan national title during the national finals loss to JOBO.
The team will, however, be seeking different fortunes against the Ugandan rivals.
