Musa Masika among 4 axed by Gor Mahia
Gor Mahia FC has parted ways with four players ahead of the second leg of the 2025 Kenyan Premier League.
Musa Masika, Dolph Owino, Enock Wanyama and Kevin Juma are among players dropped by the league champions.
The changes to the team’s unit come as the club looks to bury an inconsistent performance that punctuated their first half of the league.
Masika, who had a stint overseas in Thailand, has struggled to impress at Gor Mahia since joining the club from KCB in the 2024 season.
The former Wazito midfielder left the country in June 2022 for Buriram FC, a move that proved short-lived after he jetted back in the country and signed with KCB in March 2023.
Injuries
Coming off an injury-ravaged campaign with the Bankers, Masika demonstrated signs of reclaiming his best form following his move to Gor in 2024. The mid-season acquisition even earned praise from coach Jonathan McKinstry who once lauded his display in the Mashemeji derby duel on April 21, 2024.
He has however failed to sustain the impressive run as he found himself playing a bit role part in the larger spell of the league campaign.
Meanwhile, Kevin Simiyu Juma has also been dropped. The midfielder joined Gor Mahia in 2023 from Nzoia Sugar.
Bright start
The midfielder hit the ground running bagging his first goal on September 2 in an away clash against Ulinzi Stars. He has however been forced to contend with a limited role at the club, having failed to cement a starting berth.
Former Kenya U20 midfielder Enock Wanyama wraps up K’Ogalo’s exit list.
The highly rated midfielder joined in January 2024 to much fanfare coming from stints abroad in Slovakia and Leopards Cat in Taiwan
On the international front, Wanyama has been a mainstay in Harambee Stars youth set up featuring for the U20 sides through to the U23.
He was an integral part of Harambee Stars U20 team that featured in Arusha in 2020. The Stanley Okumbi led team claimed a fourth-place finish in a campaign that culminated with Wanyama earning a trial in Slovakia side, FK Pohronie.
He later signed with Kariobangi Sharks after an unsuccessful stint before his move to Gor Mahia.
