Murang’a Seal managed a 1-0 victory over their Football Kenya Federation Premier League opponents, Bidco United, on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Seal’s new signing from AFC Leopards, Robert Mudenyu, was the scorer of the vital goal that ensured the debutants returned to winning ways after 11 games.

Meanwhile, Bidco United had a chance to equalise and share points, but a chance that landed on the feet of Batts Awita could not be converted into a goal 10 minutes into the second half.

The win propelled the league’s debutants to the 11th position after a string of inconsistent results.

Nzoia fall

Elsewhere, Nzoia Sugar’s woes continued after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Bandari at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.

Abdalla scored the opening goal in favour of the Dockers in the 16th minute. Credit has to go to Ugandan forward Derrick Nsibambi, whose clever cross brought about the goal that unlocked an otherwise solid Nzoia defence.

Bandari had a chance to double their lead from the penalty spot, but they could not as their new signing Francis Kahiro saw his penalty saved by Nzoia’s goalkeeper, Fred Shiundu.

The Sugar Millers equalised in the 57th minute when David Simiyu converted a penalty.

Kahiro finally managed to have his name on the scoresheet when he scored the winning goal for the Dockers in the 71st minute.

Bandari, after the Sudi result, moved to the fourth position as struggling Nzoia remained in the danger zone.

Rangers outclass Ulinzi

Finally, Posta Rangers moved to second place on the Premier League table after a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars.

The Soldiers were however, the most dominant side in the opening minutes, with the Rangers surviving a threat paused by Yakeen Mutheli, whose low shot almost found the back of the net in the 25th minute.

The Mailmen were almost caught off guard in the 32nd minute when Boniface Muchiri’s clever move outwitted both Faustine Odhiambo and Binken Mwema, but the former Tusker forward saw his final shot go wide.

After surviving a number of attacks, Rangers claimed the lead three minutes before the hour mark when Felix Oluoch scored from the penalty spot.

The Rangers would have doubled their lead in the 77th minute, but a good scoring chance was not converted into a goal.

Samuel Njau saved the day for Rangers when he pulled off a good save to deny Ulinzi’s Nicholas Omondi late in the second half.
