Mathare United will miss the services of combative midfielder Amos Okoth after he suffered an injury.

A statement by the former Football Kenya Premier League side revealed that Okoth sustained an undisplaced fracture on his left fibula in their friendly against Kibera Angels.

Mathare to miss Okoth

The slum boys revealed that Okoth is set to be on the sidelines for the next eight weeks which rules him out of several National super League matches.

“Amos Okoth will be out for the next eight weeks after sustaining an undisplaced fracture to his left fibula. The combative midfielder suffered the injury during a friendly match with Kibera Angels last Thursday, Mathare United announced.

“Okoth joined us at the start of the season from FKF Division Two side Shofco FC and made his debut in the 2-0 win over Mara Sugar on matchday six. He came on for the final 19 minutes at the Utalii grounds. Speedy recovery Aguero,” the statement revealed.

Mathare United relegated

Mathare United who won the league in 2008 were relegated last season after finishing 17 in the FKF Premier League season. It was after picking eight wins, two draws and 24 losses.

They are currently working on their way up in the second tier. They are fourth on the standings with 13 points in six matches.

They have won four matches, drawn once and lost once this season.
