KVF League: KCB and Prisons Queens to renew rivalry in top clash fixture
KCB Women’s Volleyball Team is set to face off against Kenya Prisons as the first leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation Women’s National League takes centre stage this Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The event will provide a taste of elite rugby action in the three days to Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The clash pitting the two perennial rivals at 4:00 pm is the highlight of an action-packed day one event in what will be a repeat of the clash pitting the two in the last campaign.
KCB, under Japheth Munala, will be out to avenge after being silenced by Prisons 3-2 in the same stage last season, before coming back to record a 3-1 victory against the warders.
Meanwhile, Prisons, who were placed fourth in last season’s campaign, look ahead to a grueling match-up with defending champions Kenya Pipeline, who lie in wait on Saturday, before they tackle Kenya Defence Forces on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of their opener, Prisons coach Josp Barasa acknowledged the task awaiting his charges but remained optimistic of a better ending.
“These are all tough matches. It’s more like playoffs, but we have prepared and trained well, and we hope to start the league on a high. We have young players that I intend to expose in the three-day event and, of course the experienced players, and so I can only hope for the best. Last season we began the season well but lost grip along the way, but we are hopeful of making amends this season,” Barasa said, as quoted by KVF.
Other fixtures in the match day schedule are
Match 1
KDF vs. Volleyball Club
Match 2
Postbank vs. Kenyatta University
Match 3
Kenya Pipeline vs Kenya Army
Match 4
Prisons Nairobi vs DCI
Match 5:

After the Prisons clash, Bankers will also have a date against Prisons Nairobi on Sunday, December 14, at 12:00 pm.
