Kibera Soccer Ladies promoted to FKF Women’s Premier League
Kibera Soccer Ladies have secured promotion to the FKFWPL with an unassailable four-point lead in the Women’s Division One league Zone A.
After a brief stint away following their relegation in the 2020/21 season, Kibera Soccer Ladies have made a return to the women’s top-tier league.
The 2022/23 season proved to be a turning point for the team, as they not only finished third in the FKF Women’s Cup but also emerged as champions of the Women’s Division One Zone A league.
In Zone A, the race for the promotion playoff spot was fiercely contested between Uweza Women and Mathare Women with Uweza Women finally securing the spot.
Meanwhile, Zone B is witnessing a close competition, with Gideon Starlets holding a slender one-point lead over second-placed Bungoma Queens. Kisped Queens, in third place, are also in contention to win the league, trailing league leaders Gideon by just four points with a game in hand.
At the end of the season, the winners of both divisions will earn automatic promotion to the FKFWPL. Additionally, they will participate in a playoff match to determine the overall champion of the FKF Women’s Division One league.
On the other hand, the second-placed teams will compete for the final promotion spot in a two-legged playoff tie, vying for the opportunity to join the top-tier league as the third-promoted team.
