Dagoretti South Member of Parliament (MP) John Kiarie has termed a crucial infrastructural development as the secret behind the extracurricular success of schools in the region.

Speaking during a live TV interview on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Kiarie, who rose to fame as a member of the acting crew, Redykyulass, underscored the important work that went on behind the scenes, which he says, catapulted the constituency to its acclaimed stature in sports and performing arts.

In the 2025 Term One editions, Dagoretti had two teams at the national games.

“It is not by chance that Dagoretti Schools are leading in drama, basketball, rugby, and soccer. It is because there is a very deliberate investment that we are making to grow these extracurricular activities,” Kiarie revealed.

The MP credited the onset of his tenure as a Member of Parliament to the construction of two key infrastructures that have revolutionised sports games in the area.

“When I got in, Dagoretti South Constituency could only host a festival in Lenana School. Today we hosting not only in Lenana we have built two multi-purpose halls as part of practical movement towards getting these infrastructures working,” he said.
