Kenyans congratulate Ferdinand Omanyala after his heroics at 60m indoor race
Kenyans have continued to pour their congratulatory messages to African 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala who won his first indoor sprint race with 6.6.3 last night.
Omanyala lined up at the Miramas Métropole Indoor meet in France, a World Athletics Indoor Tour bronze label race with belief that running the Indoor Tour races will help him cut a bit more of his start time as he seeks to improve his movement off the blocks.
While announcing the victory on their Facebook page, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (Nock) revealed that the record has been standing since 2005.
“New national record in the 60m dash for Ferdinand Omanyala…the record has been standing since 2005! Congratulations champ,” Nock posted.
On his Twitter account, Kenyans continued to praise him for his sustained strides in the race.
Omanyala is now expected to head to Paris where he is scheduled to run three more races before flying back home to prepare for the outdoor season.
