The commencement of the Safari 7s at RFUEA Grounds witnessed a standout performance from Kenya Morans who got a 24-0 win against Western Province select.

Floyd Wabwire’s swift try within the first two minutes set the tone, and another contribution from him, coupled with a well-executed play involving Ronnie Omondi and Benson Salem, resulted in a comfortable 17-0 halftime lead.

Austine Sikutwa added another try in the second half, securing Morans’ 24-0 victory.

Uganda showcased dominance in the opening round with an emphatic 35-0 win against South Africa All Stars.

Roy Kizito, Okeny Sexton (2) and Aaron Ofoywroth (2) were among the try-scorers, and Ofoywroth’s successful conversions solidified Uganda’s comprehensive 35-0 victory.

Other Safari 7s results

In a separate match, Samurai triumphed over National 7s Circuit champions with a final score of 17-5. Despite their early 7-0 lead, Samurai faced a setback with a yellow card, allowing KCB to score just before halftime through William Opaka. The second half saw Samurai secure two tries, culminating in a 17-5 win.

Red Wailers, featuring notable players like Stephen Osumba and Fidel Oloo, kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 14-12 win against Tropics 7s.

Osumba’s opening try was answered by Tropics, resulting in a leveled 7-7 score. However, Joseph Ndunde’s pivotal try, converted by Andrew Matoka, sealed Red Wailers’ narrow 14-12 victory.
