Kenya Lionesses will renew rivalry with South Africa and Tunisia in Pool A of the Dubai Sevens invitational competition where they will also play against France whom they last met in the 2019 Cup final.

The Lionesses’ head coach Dennis Mwanja is interested in what their rivals have to offer during this edition.

He looks forward to putting up a better show with a squad of mixed talent including the young blood he named for the 12-team women’s competition. The tactician takes the invitational event with the seriousness it deserves as a warm-up event ahead of the 2024 Olympics qualifiers where they will battle South Africa and Tunisia in the regional competition.

Commenting on their preparation and their pool Mwanja said, “This competition will serve as a warm-up event ahead of the 2024 Olympics qualifiers.

“We are excited by what our opponents will offer against our fairly young blood in the absence of big guns including Stella Wafula who picked a knock in Kampala during the Africa women’s 15-aside pool matches.”
